Watch the film on YouTube

A 90-second film on how GrabMaps helps Singapore stay ahead of floods, made with PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency.

PUB watches over the island’s water with more than 1,000 sensors and 500 CCTVs. GrabMaps’ data shows them what’s happening on the roads.

My role
Collaborate with a creative agency on storyboarding, art direction, scripting, and end-to-end project management.

The challenge

A data partnership has nothing to hold up to the camera, and the people behind it are experts, not actors.

What we were up against

We needed a short, credible story with real voices, for an audience that included government.

What I led

  • Video direction
  • Scripting
  • Storyboarding
  • Art direction
  • Mood boarding
  • Story frames
  • Partner marketing

My process

Simplify and humanise how we explain the tech

The film featured two spokespeople, one from Grab and one from PUB. So we gave each partner its own brand colour, Grab green and PUB blue, to tell their scenes apart and show which part of the technology each one brings.

Moodboard for the film
